To achieve our vision, we are seeking a results-driven Policy Associate with 2-5 years of experience in policy, research, writing, and/or legal work, or working on policy and/or legislative matters in an elected representative’s office. This role is an opportunity for a creative, talented individual to join a committed and growing team dedicated to delivering excellent, free public education to children of all backgrounds and transforming the landscape of public education.
Deliver powerful results
As Policy Associate or Manager, you will support Zeta’s Strategic Impact and Advisory functions to advance education policy and regulatory priorities and research, including:
Monitoring education-related policy and legislative developments and advancing policy strategies that increase access to high-quality public education
In alignment with organizational focus areas, developing policy priorities for the organization
Developing approaches for identified policy areas including local, state, and federal campaigns and initiatives and necessary policy changes
Researching and advising on wide-ranging education policy issues impacting the organization including: funding, teacher pipelines, governance, charter growth/charter caps, early childhood education access, educational choice and opportunity, and much more
Drafting, analyzing, and amending bills, administrative rules, and regulations at the state, local, and federal levels
Developing key documents, including testimony, position papers, issue briefs, and policy analyses and pursuing opportunities to provide feedback on proposed policies
Drafting briefs and other materials based on research conducted/gathered
Developing and writing materials tailored to diverse audiences including policymakers, allies, families, funders, and other decision makers
Proactively driving innovation, trying new approaches, and tackling problems from many angles to find creative solutions
Identifying best practices and innovations that lead to excellent outcomes and processes
Wearing multiple hats as a part of a lean Strategic Impact, Advisory, and Network team, supporting the work of others across the Network
