Amanda Simmons began her work in education in 2011 when she started teaching preschool. In 2013, Ms. Simmons joined Success Academy Charter Schools where she taught kindergarten, second grade, and middle school math. She served as the Grade Team Lead when teaching both kindergarten and second grade. As a middle school math teacher, 96% of Ms. Simmons’ students passed the New York state tests with over three-quarters earning the highest possible score. After several years in the classroom, Ms. Simmons became the Assistant Principal of Success Academy Bronx 2, where she played a key role in ensuring high outcomes for kids. Ms. Simmons joined Zeta in 2018 and is thrilled to be serving the Inwood and Washington Heights communities. Ms. Simmons received her B.A. in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University and her Masters in Education from Touro College. When Ms. Simmons is not working, she is usually spending time with her family and planning her next big world excursion!
